Local Beaches

Welcome to North Myrtle Beach! If this is your first time planning a trip to North Myrtle Beach, you may not realize the city is made up of 4 very unique sections. You may be thinking “how could one beach be different from another beach?”, the best answer would be to check them all out and experience the different personalities of each neighborhood. Keep reading for a quick summary guide of each beach and why we love them!

Windy Hill

The southernmost section of North Myrtle Beach, this area feels like its own private area. Walking on the beach you will notice a gap between Crescent Beach and Windy Hill which is the town within the town of North Myrtle Beach, Atlantic Beach. Gorgeous white sand is just begging for a sand castle to be built. At the very end of Windy Hill you will find a natural swash where the tide dictates your afternoon walk. A locals favorite Joe’s Bar and Grill over looks the marsh with views second to none. A main focal point of the area, Barefoot Landing, is just a short stroll along the designated walkways of 48th Ave.

Crescent Beach

North of Windy Hill and a little south of Main Street is Crescent Beach. We consider this area of beach the “center of it all”. Less than a 5 minute drive to Main St, and even closer to many area restaurants such as Molly Darcy’s, Midtown Bistro, and Benitos, visitors love this location! With all the creature comforts of restaurants, grocery stores, gas stations, etc. Crescent Beach is a very popular area for vacationing year after year.

Ocean Drive

The heart and soul of North Myrtle Beach. This area is world famous for the South Carolina state dance “The Shag”. Take a stroll down Main Street and you will see exactly what the area is about. Day or night, visitors and locals of any age will experience the friendly and laid back attitude of North Myrtle Beach. Happy beach music is always playing….either at one of the weekly outdoor concerts or coming from the numerous outdoor dining options. After dark, the nightlife really heats up with music dancing and drinks for adults of all ages. Main Street is a must visit when vacationing with Vereen Vacation Rentals!

Cherry Grove

Cherry Grove is the most northern section in North Myrtle Beach. We like to think of it as the slowest pace of the 4 sections. Time feels like it slows down in Cherry Grove, with nostalgic beach cottages and the one and only Boulineau’s Grocery and Beach store, it’s no wonder Cherry Grove is a favorite spot for families. With the main draw being the Cherry Grove Pier, visitors for years have been coming to this area for its scenic views and its great fishing. We at Vereen Vacation Rentals love this area for the easy access to the beaches, and the laid back vibe, and the family friendly atmosphere.
